Through the extension of the Household Support Fund provided to Local Authorities by central government, Energy Projects Plus is delighted to continue our partnership with Halton, Sefton, and Wirral Councils, to provide much needed financial support to residents who are struggling to make their regular energy bill payments due to the ongoing Cost of Living crisis.
Through this Fund, we can make a payment directly to the energy supplier of vulnerable residents referred to us through a trusted member of our referral network. These payments will provide some extra resilience this year.
To be eligible for support, residents must:
- Live within the Halton or Sefton Local Authority areas.
- Pay for their energy bills via a means other than Prepay (e.g. Direct Debit/Standing Order/Cash)
- Be in financial hardship, reducing their ability to pay their energy bills.
The Household Support Fund will continue until the end of March 2025, or until funds are exhausted, whichever is sooner.
To refer a resident to us, simply click on the link above to access the referral form. Enter your contact details, your client’s contact details, and their energy account number(s). If your organisation isn’t listed on the drop-down, please feel free to use “other” and add a “note” to explain which organisation you represent.
In most cases we’ll be able to process payment within a week. Please note, it can take many weeks for the energy supplier to credit the balance to your client’s energy account, and it’s best to advise them of this.
Value of payments by Local Authority Area
Sefton: Equivalent to one monthly payment
Halton: as per following table:
Applicant Household Composition | Value of Award |
Single person | £65 |
Couple | £85 |
3 to 5 people | £115 |
