Carbon Footprint –  a carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including Carbon Dioxide & Methane) released / emitted into the atmosphere by a person, organisation, product or event.  It is usually measured in weight (tonnes or kilos of carbon dioxide or CO2 equivalent and serves as an indicator of how much your daily actions contribute to global climate change.  It’s made up of direct emissions – driving a petrol / diesel car; heating your home with gas and indirect emissions –  production of the goods you buy, food you eat, and electricity you use (including the energy it takes to manufacture and transport those items).
