There is just one week left to join the energy switching scheme that aims to cut household bills across Merseyside, before the offers are announced. Householders are urged to register before the deadline and see how much they could save.

Thousands of people have joined previous rounds, which saved local people a total of £424,000 a year on their energy bills, with average savings of £212.

The Switch Together, Save Together scheme is organised by local charity, Energy Projects Plus, together with the six Merseyside local authorities. It aims to reduce people’s energy bills by using collective buying power to negotiate an exclusive cheaper tariff from energy suppliers.

Householders have until midnight on 1st March to register. By registering their details, householders will help give weight to the scheme by increasing its bulk buying power. After 2nd March, they will receive information about the winning tariffs as well as other tariffs on the market, and they will be able to see how much they could save if they did switch.

Anyone can join the collective switch, regardless of current supplier or payment methods. The scheme aims to make it easier to switch supplier, and advisors are on hand to offer free and impartial help every step of the way. It’s free to join and there is no obligation to switch.
