Time is running out for pre-payment customers to redeem their £12 Government Electricity Rebate Voucher. Customers are being urged to check they have received the voucher, which must be used by 28th February.
Local charity, Energy Projects Plus is urging householders in Liverpool – where there has been low uptake – to use their voucher by 28th February 2015. After this, they will not be able to get the rebate.
Available for a limited period only customers were sent a voucher in November 2014 to be redeemed for electricity credit when they topped up at their retail outlet. PayPoint, Payzone and Post Office outlets are all able to transfer the credit onto customers’ Pay As You Go keys.
The scheme aims to help users reduce their energy bills with the rebate helping towards the cost of social and environmental programmes on customer energy bills. It comes as part of a wider package of measures which will reduce household energy bills by an average of around £50 per year.
If people haven’t received their pre-payment voucher, they should contact their energy supplier. To find out more information visit GOV.UK.
