Under national Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Landlords are now required to ensure they have a valid, current EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) registered for each property they let, and that the EPC is rated as E or better (on a scale of A-G).
As experts in all aspects of energy efficiency, Energy Projects Plus is happy to work with landlords to ensure their properties are compliant.
The process
A Domestic Energy Assessor from Energy Projects Plus will carry out an EPC assessment for your property. If the property does not achieve an E rating or higher, we will issue you with a draft EPC, and provide advice in regard to the improvements required. This could potentially include working with your tenant to apply for grants for energy efficient home improvements, such as insulation and/or heating appliances.
Once you advise us that the required improvements have been made, we will visit the property to carry out a new EPC assessment, noting the improvements. We will then lodge the assessment and provide you with your EPC, showing the property is rated E or higher.
Costs
£120 (Merseyside)
£150 (Cheshire)
Note: If your property achieves an E rating or better following the first assessment, we will issue you with a refund of £70.
All prices are exclusive of VAT
