Merseyside Collective Switch Offers Extended

March 26, 2014

The Merseyside Collective Switch exclusive energy deals have now been extended until midnight Monday 31st March.

Hundreds of Merseyside residents have already switched through the scheme and are now saving an average of £207 a year on their energy bills.

The Switch Together, Save Together scheme is organised by local charity, Energy Projects Plus, together with the six Merseyside local authorities. It aims to reduce people’s energy bills by collective buying power to negotiate cheaper tariffs from energy suppliers and making it easier for people to switch.

Exclusive offers are available from British Gas and Scottish Power and include the cheapest fixed British Gas tariff which protects against any price rises until June 2015.

Ellie Abernethy, Project Manager at Energy Projects Plus said, “We are really pleased with the level of response we have received so far, and now the offers have been extended even more local people have the opportunity to benefit from the scheme and save on their bills”.

Exclusive Energy Deals from Merseyside Collective Switch

March 13, 2014

Over 4,000 local residents have joined the Merseyside Collective Switch to get a better deal on their energy bills, which has led to a range of attractive offers being secured from energy suppliers.

Offers just in from energy suppliers include exclusive deals available only through the collective switch for a limited time. Householders are encouraged to have a look at the offers and see how much they could save.

Offers are available from British Gas, Scottish Power and Npower and include the cheapest fixed British Gas tariff which protects against any price rises until June 2015. These offers are available until midnight on 24th March.

The Switch Together, Save Together scheme is organised by local charity, Energy Projects Plus, together with the six Merseyside local authorities. It aims to reduce people’s energy bills through negotiating cheaper tariffs from energy suppliers and making it easier for people to switch.

The Merseyside scheme joined other collective switches across the country in pooling registrations before approaching suppliers. In total, 57,000 people registered nationally and this high response enabled scheme switching partner, energyhelpline, to negotiate exclusive deals for the group.

The offers are available as part of a full market comparison. The winning offer will be displayed at the top of the online results table above all other tariffs on the market.  This ensures the customer knows how the offer compares against the standard available tariffs and shows that by joining the collective and coming together as a community, they have helped secure a better deal.

Spokesperson said: “We’re really pleased with the level of response we’ve had to the scheme, and are thrilled to be able to offer exclusive tariffs. This is an opportunity for a lot of people to save money on their energy bills, knowing that they will benefit from impartial advice about which is the best tariff for them. I hope that everyone takes a minute to have a look at how much they could save if they switched and are able to benefit from the scheme.”
